Getting married is exciting, but dealing with paperwork? Not so much. If you’re looking for a marriage license notary in Tampa Bay, you’ve come to the right place. Whether you’re planning a big wedding or a quiet elopement, having your documents notarized properly is one of those boxes you need to check.
The good news? We bring the notary to you.
Nobody wants to spend their wedding day running errands. Our mobile wedding notary service brings everything needed right to your ceremony location.
Beach wedding in Clearwater? Backyard ceremony in St. Petersburg? Hotel elopement in downtown Tampa? We’ll be there with bells on (or at least with our notary seal ready).
Here’s what makes mobile notarial services different: you don’t have to work around anyone else’s schedule or office hours. We coordinate with your wedding timeline. Need someone at 6 PM on a Saturday? We can make that happen.
Most county clerk offices close early and aren’t open on weekends, which is exactly when most people get married.
Let’s clear up some confusion first. Your wedding license and marriage license are the same document. Different people call it different things, but it’s the piece of paper that makes your marriage legal. You pick it up from the county clerk’s office before your wedding, and it needs to be signed during your ceremony by you, your spouse, witnesses, and whoever officiates.
Now, here’s where things get interesting. In Florida, notaries public can actually officiate a marriage ceremony.
That’s right. A notary can perform the whole wedding and sign the marriage license as the officiant. Not every state allows this, but Florida does.
If you already have a wedding officiant handling your ceremony, we can still help. We can notarize documents related to your wedding, witness signatures, or handle any other notarizing documents you might need on your big day.
Elopements are having a moment. Maybe you want something simple. Maybe you’re tired of planning a big event. Maybe you just want to marry your person without all the fuss.
Whatever your reason, elopement notary services make the legal part simple.
For elopements, timing matters. You need to get your license from the clerk’s office first. In Florida, there’s no waiting period if you’ve completed a premarital course, but otherwise you’ll wait three days. Your license is valid for 60 days from issue, so don’t wait too long.
We’ve handled elopements in parks, on boats, at homes, and everywhere in between. The ceremony can be as short or as meaningful as you want. What matters is that it’s done right and your marriage is legal.
Every couple is different. Some want traditional. Some want weird and wonderful. Our wedding notary services work for all of it.
Do you have family members who live out of state? We can help coordinate any notarization needs for paperwork they might need to send. Planning a destination wedding in Florida with guests from everywhere? We understand how to handle documents for people who aren’t from here.
Religious ceremony with a separate legal signing? We can handle the legal part before or after your religious ceremony. Civil ceremony, that’s just about the legal commitment? We’ll make it meaningful in its own way.
The process is straightforward. After your ceremony, both partners sign the marriage license. Your witnesses (you need two) sign it.
Then the person who officiated signs it. If that’s a notary public, they sign in their official capacity and apply their notary seal.
The completed document then goes back to the county clerk where you got it. They record it and your marriage is official. The clerk’s office will send you certified copies later, which you’ll need for things like name changes or updating your status with various agencies.
We serve the entire Tampa Bay area. That includes Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Brandon, Riverview, Plant City, Apollo Beach, Safety Harbor, Dunedin, Largo, Pinellas Park, and all the beaches. Basically, if you can name it in the Bay Area, we can get there.
Each neighborhood has its own personality. Ybor City weddings feel different from Treasure Island beach ceremonies. Downtown St. Pete elopements have a different vibe than rustic barn weddings in Plant City. We’ve seen them all and can handle whatever your vision includes.
Sometimes you need notarial services before or after the wedding. Prenuptial agreements need notarization. Name change documents need notaries. Property transfers between spouses need proper witnessing.
Our notary marriage services cover everything wedding-related. We’re not just showing up for 20 minutes to watch you say “I do.” If you need help understanding what documents you need, we’ll walk you through it.
For weekend weddings, book at least two weeks ahead. For weekday elopements, we can often accommodate requests with just a few days notice. Holiday weekends book up fast, so plan accordingly.
If you already have someone performing your ceremony, they’ll sign the marriage license as the officiant. You might still need a notary for other documents, but the ceremony itself is covered.
As long as you want. Some couples do a quick 10-minute legal ceremony. Others want something more meaningful that takes 20-30 minutes. You’re in control of the timeline.
Small errors can usually be corrected. The notary public will check everything before filing to catch any issues. If something needs fixing after filing, the county clerk can guide you through corrections.
Only if you completed a premarital preparation course from a Florida-approved provider; otherwise, there’s a mandatory three-day waiting period. Plan accordingly.

First, get your marriage license from your county clerk. In Hillsborough County, that’s in downtown Tampa. In Pinellas County, head to the clerk’s office in Clearwater or one of the satellite locations. In Pasco County, the main office is in Dade City.
Once you have your license, contact us. Let us know when and where your ceremony is happening. We’ll confirm we can be there and go over any specific needs you have.
On the day of the ceremony, we arrive a little early. We’ll handle all the paperwork, make sure everything is signed correctly, and file it with the county clerk for you.
